The SCBWI BookStop site launches today! Find SETTLEMENT HOUSE GIRL on my SCBWI BookStop page! It is in the section of YA books. (Like many books written for adults, it crosses over to YA readers.)

Thanks to the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators for helping me to promote SETTLEMENT HOUSE GIRL, my memoir about growing up at North East Neighborhood House in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The site includes information about the book and links to my social media sites. A button on the BookStop page allows you to go directly to Amazon to purchase SETTLEMENT HOUSE GIRL (paperback). The book is also available as an ebook on Amazon.

SCBWI BOOKSTOP Promotion Now Live!

HATCHING CHICKS IN ROOM 6 will be featured for the next six weeks at the SCBWI BookStop site. SCBWI BookStop goes live to the public, Monday October 16, and runs through Thursday November 30. It features books published in 2017. With information about each book and links to related social media sites plus a direct link for purchasing the book, BookStop is designed to widen awareness and provide an opportunity for authors to promote their books.

I have been writing for children since 1980 and am the author of more than 170 books, both fiction and nonfiction. I am also an illustrator. My newest titles include my memoir (for adults) Settlement House Girl, My Friend from Outer Space, Keeper of the Light: Juliet Fish Nichols Fights the San Francisco Fog, Planting a Garden in Room 6, Butterflies in Room 6, Hatching Chicks in Room 6, Living Fossils, Clues to the Past and four books in the Caroline Arnold's Habitats series: A Day and Night in the Rain Forest, Desert, Prairie, and Forest. Other recent titles include Too Hot? Too Cold? Keeping Body Temperature Just Right and A Warmer World: From Polar Bears to Butterflies, How Climate Change Affects Wildlife, A Polar Bear’s World, illustrated with my own cut paper art, now republished as a board book, Wiggle and Waggle, five stories about two hardworking worms, and The Terrible Hodag and the Animal Catchers, a tall tale which won the Parents’ Choice Gold Award are two of my fiction books.
